Merry Christmas!

I am mostly finished with my felt advent calendar that my sisters and I have each been making. I just need to have the dowels cut and figure out what to hang it with. I thought originally I would use the ric rac but I'm not sure if it is strong enough to hold it, we will see.
The calendar hangs on the wall and then each day in December your kids take an ornament out of the pocket and put it on the calendar, so by the time Christmas comes, your tree is full. I had one growing up so I'm so excited for this tradition to continue with my kids.

And to my sisters, I just wanted to let you know I trimmed my shepherds way back so it would fit better in the pockets, so if you are having trouble with that, don't hesitate to cut away!

Good job. I need to finish mine. Looks great. I'm going to trim back my angel. Off with the stars for me!

We got some of the ornament ideas from http://shannonmakesstuff.blogspot.com/2009/11/felt-advent-calendar.html

But mostly, we just copied the one we had growing up. It is such a fun tradition to have with kids. I know for me I couldn't wait till it was my day to put up an ornament.

cool idea and nice job making it! I'm sure Levi will love it and feel the excitement as the countdown begins. I was wondering if you could post some pics of levi, or send them to my email if you don't want to blog. Spencer really wants to see him, and loves looking at your blog! Thanks!!
