Epic Backyard Blog Post

Lots and lots of pictures ahead, and I felt like I was being skimpy as I was picking which ones to post.  But here we go. . . .
The beginning of our yard.  Brad worked so hard this spring to get it all ready.
First he rototilled the ground to soften it up.
Then he spread the compost out that we had delivered. (And yes, he was exhausted.)
Then after the compost was rototilled in to the top layer of the ground, he dragged this contraption around to level the dirt. (With extra pounds added by Jared)
The next day we saw what our neighbors across the street where using to work in their backyard; painful to see. Anyways, back to watching Brad break his back.
Later he dug all the trenches for the sprinkler system by hand
and then laid the sprinkler pipes with some help from Levi.
Once the dirt was again flat and level, we started building the fence. . .
with lots of help from his dad!
Our little happy family with a fenced in yard.  If you look very closely you can see our tiny little fruit trees lined up along the back fence.  We planted 2 apple and 2 peach trees. At this point they were purely just sticks.
Someday we hope to extend our cement patio out to the side.
 Finally grass began to grow!
We also had cement curbing put in around the edges of our entire yard.
And this is what our yard looks like now.
 and facing the other way.
We have put in a ton of bushes and flowers and 2 trees, in addition to our fruit trees.

And look what our little sticks have become, this is one of our peach trees.

These pictures were taken a month ago, but this is what Brad built around our someday patio extension. It had really steep slopes going away from it so he decided to build retaining walls/terraced steps with plants on one side and steps leading down to the side of our house on the other side. It really made the area look a lot nicer.
The steps leading to our raspberry bushes.

Brad has done an amazing job with this yard, he has been kept busy. And we still have so many more plans to do with our yard, next summer I guess. :)

This is my view from my kitchen sink window, silly boys included.  I love my view with the fields in the background!!  They have officially begun building the roads back behind our house so someday all I will have to look at from this window will be houses, but until then, I will enjoy what I have, silly boys included!
