I can't believe that I have a five year old, he has gotten so old! For his birthday we did a "planes" theme. I made him a birthday cake with planes on it and a number five that is suppose to look like a cloud, do you kind of see it? :) We then went and picked up Brad from work and took some time to go up to the tower and watch the planes come in and take off. We then went to the movie "Planes." It was a great day and I think the boys really had fun. They had never been to a movie theater before, so it was pretty exciting to them.
It just so happened that only 2 days before Levi's birthday they actually closed the old Boise Airport Tower and opened up a brand new, way taller tower. Things were a little crazy at the new tower trying to get things to work and get use to everything so they didn't want to have us come and bring the boys over there. But Brad got permission for us to go to the old tower all by ourselves. So there was no one there, it was just weirdly empty because there was still a bunch of stuff and mess that hadn't all been cleaned up, just no one was working there.
I forgot to take pictures when we were up in the tower watching the planes, but I finally pulled out my camera in the radar room. It looks pretty ancient huh. Brad hasn't been trained on this stuff yet, he only works in the tower. We are waiting for a class date for him to go back to Oklahoma City for a month to get radar training, then he will come back and work it.
As an interesting side note, this is what the new radar room looks like in the new tower. A little different, huh?
The only problem is, that Jared LOVES the scooter also. They are constantly fighting over it. I didn't even think Jared would be able to do this kind of scooter, but he is great at it for a 2 year old!!
