St. George Fun

Last weekend, we had the wonderful oppurtunity to go down to St. George and visit my Grandma and Grandpa Reed and do some site-seeing. It was so wonderful to feel the warm air and the sun shining down. Levi had a hard time not being at home and pretty much never took a nap unless we were driving around. That was the worse he has ever done when we have traveled. But that is okay, we survived. Now that Levi is older, I have really calmed down and don't get as upset when Levi is a little difficult, I just go-with-the-flow more.

Our first stop with Grandma and Grandpa was to the Mountain Meadows Massacre memorial site. It was very interesting to go out there and talk about it a little bit. Brad especially enjoyed it because he took an entire class his senior year of college just on the Mountain Meadows Massacre. He taught us a lot of interesting facts about that event on our drive out. For how warm it was in St. George, it was pretty cold up in the mountains, I wasn't prepare or expecting it. All I could do was think about pioneers traveling through there with covered wagons and walking the whole way, it is so rugged out there.

Our next stop was Snow Canyon. It was absolulty amazing and beautiful and the best part was the WARMTH! We weren't prepared for the heat or to hike around very much but we did get out and walk up some of the amazing red rocks. Levi really enjoyed being outside in the sun, he hasn't really ever done that in his entire life.

I wish I could capture the beauty of the place in these pictures like Dad or Jolene could.

We decided to turn our 4 1/2 hour drive home into a 7 1/2 hour drive by traveling through Zions and Bryce Canyon. We didn't bring our camera down so we couldn't use G & G's camera anymore once we left so we don't have any pictures of Zions or Bryce. They were also amazing sites to see. Levi did pretty well on the drive especially having to be in a carseat for that long. Overall, it was a wonderful vacations. We can call it our first family vacation with Levi, it makes us even more excited to travel with our kids once they get older. Don't you just love family!!

So much fun! I thought Levi looked so cute in the picture where he's sitting on Brads shoulders.
