Brad had his first solo flight this week!! For anyone that might not know what is happening with Brad and I right now, Brad is in the process of becoming an Air Traffic Controller. The first process is to get his pilots license which he is currently working on. The next step is for Brad, Levi, and me to move to the LA area (Walnut, CA to be exact) and for Brad to take one semester (24 credits) of college down there to get an associates degree in Aviation. It's just going to be a quick, 4 month move down to southern California and then we will be back in SLC by the end of December to wait for a job offer. It is all very exciting stuff! Bring on the adventure.
For some strange reason there is a tradition that after you take your first solo flight, your instructor cuts off your shirt. Brad was prepared and wore an old t-shirt of his that would be full of symbolism when it gets destroyed. The shirt says "I am having an out of money experience." We are hoping that by Brad doing all of this, we will be able to get a good job with good pay and no longer be having an "out of money experience."

Exciting times! Good luck in your endeavors :-)
That is crazy! Congrats! So are you selling or renting out your house? You have done so much with it!! I haven't seen you guys for awhile- we need to do something before you leave!!
Seeing Brad next to the plane almost doesn't seem real for some reason... I know he's been doing solos and stuff, but wow it's real! Brad flies planes in the sky high and Janae trusts that nothing will happen! I would worry each time I knew he was in the air. Nice job applying that trust, Janae!
I love that pic of Levi with the sun hat on:) I'm surprised you don't want to show off your new purchase with the tow hitch. I guess you've only had it for a small amt. of time.
We are sure going to miss you!!! It has been nice having you so close. We need to get together again. Also feel free to bring Levi over anytime so you can pack and run errands, etc.
So Mark, welcome to Walnut (almost). You must be going to Mt. SAC. Thats cool. I use to go up to the institute there before I got married. Bro. Meachem is a gem! You'll like it there. Plus take advantage of the area, lots to do in So. Cal! :) Happy Day!
