Junior Cook

I love watching Levi become aware of this world and how things work. I find such joy when I can see he understands the process of something. I thought it was so cute the first time I found him moving laundry clothes from the washer to the dryer then closing the door to the dryer and then I see him reach up and push all the buttons like he is trying to turn it on. He watches me and then can imitate without any assistance. He is just growing up so much.
A couple of months ago I was baking some sugar cookies and I had a little bit of dough left over that couldn't fit on any of the pans so I was just leaving them behind. Well Levi climbs up onto a chair and imitates a lot of the actions that I had just performed while making the cookies.
He pulls the dough out of the bowl..
He measures it all out...
He puts some dough under the rolling pin and rolls it flat... And then he celebrates his accomplishments!!

It was just so cute watching him play with this dough. He was playing with it for at least twenty minutes just completely by himself, he would do the actions over and over again. I am so glad that I didn't just quickly take all the stuff off the table to prevent him from touching and making a mess everywhere (which I almost did and usually do). I am trying to be better at just letting him be a kid and not get so uptight about everything (like cookie dough messes!)
